Board

The LCEF is governed by a volunteer board of trustees. The trustees meet quarterly and responsible for managing and directing the resources of the LCEF.

Officers

Frank DickFrank Dick
Chairman
Frank Dick began his career in 1950 as superintendent of 180 students in the Portage Township Schools, while studying for his Master of Science degree at BGSU. He moved on to shepherd the 600-student Pandora-Gilboa School District for four years. In 1957 he made a jump to Sylvania City Schools, with 6,000 students. By 1965 he was in charge of more than 63,000 students in the Toledo City School District.He received the Ohio Congress of Parents and Teachers Award in 1974, and was inducted into the Toledo City Athletic Hall of Fame in 1996. He received the Alumni of the Year award for BGSU in 1997, and Boy Scouts Citizen of the Year in 1999.He is a board member of many organizations including the BGSU Foundation Board and Adrian College. Mr. Dick is currently chairman emeritus of the Gleaner Life Insurance Society.He is a veteran of the 80th Combat Infantry Division (1944-46) and has been awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Combat Infantry Badge.Mr. Dick of Adrian is the especially proud husband of the late Shirley Dick and father of Reide.
Patrick FarverPartick Farver
Vice Chairman
Patrick Farver is the President and CEO of Blissfield Manufacturing Company located in Blissfield, Michigan. In addition to his involvement with the Lenawee County Education Foundation, Mr. Farver is the Vice Chair of the Adrian College Board of Trustees, Chair of the Bixby Community Foundation and a Board Member of the Lenawee County Economic Development Corporation. Mr. Farver and his wife Debbie reside in Adrian, Michigan.
Stanley CaineStanley Caine
Secretary/Treasurer
Stanley Caine served as the President of Adrian College from 1989 until his retirement in 2005. Since that time, Mr. Caine has served in interim administrative roles with Wilmington College and North Carolina Wesleyan College. Mr. Caine is a member of the Board of Trustees at both Wilmington College and Centenary College. Mr. Caine is very active in the Lenawee community. He currently serves on numerous boards and committees. Mr. Caine resides in Adrian with his wife Karen. Mr. Caine and his wife have three adult children.

Allan Brittain

Allan Brittain retired as President, CEO and Chairman of the Board of the Bank of Lenawee.  Mr. Brittain has served as a board member on numerous community boards, including, the Bank of Lenawee, the Lenawee YMCA, the Adrian Public Schools Educational Foundation, the Lenawee United Way, Siena Heights University and Adrian Public Schools.  Mr. Brittain and his wife Julie reside in Adrian, Michigan.
L. Donald BushL. Donald Bush L. Donald Bush is a partner in Leland D. Bush and Sons farm in Macon Township, Michigan. Mr. Bush served over 20 years on the Britton-Macon Board of Education and over 24 years on the Lenawee Intermediate School District Board of Education.  Currently, Mr. Bush is on the Board’s of the Britton-Macon Education Foundation and the Jackson Community College Foundation in addition to his service to the LCEF. He and his wife Wilnella are active in their church and enjoy spending time with their adult daughter and twin granddaughters.
Garry CliftGarry Clift Garry Clift is the owner and operator of Clift Buick GMC. Mr. Clift is currently the President of the Michigan Auto Dealers Association and he has served on their Board of Directors for the previous ten years. He earned a B.A. from Western Michigan University in Finance. Mr. Clift and his family are highly active members of the Adrian and Lenawee communities. Mr. Clift is a member and past President of the Adrian Kiwanis Club. He is also a Board Member at United Bank and Trust. In addition to his current community service activities, Mr. Clift has accumulated numerous awards for his service to the community. Special recognitions include: Maple Leaf Award, Stubnitz Award, Athena Parthenon Award and the Addison J. Comstock Award. Mr. Clift and his wife Susan have two children and reside in Adrian.
Katelyn CoberlyKatelyn Coberly Katelyn Coberly serves as the youth ambassador to the Lenawee County Education Foundation Board of Trustees. Ms. Coberly is currently a junior at Onsted High School where she is actively involved in National Honors Society, Writer’s Club, Journalism, S.A.D.D., Quiz Bowl and the Science Club.Outside of her academic pursuits, Ms. Coberly has been a Girl Scout for 12 years, currently serving as an Ambassador for the Girl Scouts. She is a member of the Lenawee Youth Council and the Teen Advisory Board at the Lenawee County Library.
Gregory DuMarsGregory DuMars
Gregory (Greg) DuMars has been a resident of Adrian, Michigan for 31 years. Mr. DuMars is retired from Delphi Automotive where he served as a human resources administrator. He is an Adrian City Commissioner, having been appointed in 2005 and then elected in 2005 and 2009 and is also a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals, as well as having served on the Adrian Public Schools Board of Education for six years. He currently serves on the YMCA Board of Directors (12 years), the Great Sauk Trail Council, Boy Scouts of America Board of Directors (11 years), is a trustee on the Lenawee County Education Foundation, is a member of the Adrian Rotary Club (27 years), is a member of the Stubnitz Environmental Educational Center Advisory Board and is treasurer of the First Presbyterian Church. Ms. DuMars earned a B.A. from Thiel College, is married to Debbie and has four adult children.  
Suann HammersmithSuann Hammersmith
Suann Hammersmith currently serves as the President and CEO of the Lenawee Community Foundation. Ms. Hammersmith is heavily involved in the greater Lenawee community. In addition to her service to the LCEF, she is currently on the Board of Directors for the Gleaner Life Insurance Society, the Lenawee Human Services Council; and the Adrian Morning Rotary Club. Ms. Hammersmith resides in Blissfield, Michigan with her husband James.
David HickmanDavid Hickman
David Hickman is Chairman of the Board of Directors for United Bancorp, Inc., the parent company to United Bank and Trust. Mr. Hickman received both his bachelors and masters degrees from the University of Michigan. Mr. Hickman serves on the Board of Trustees at Adrian College, he is a member of the Board of Directors for Herrick Medical Center, Chairman of the Lenawee Community Foundation and a member of the Lenawee Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors. Mr. Hickman has received numerous honors for his professional and civic service.  Specific honors include: Michigan Banker of the Year, Honorary Doctorate from Adrian College, Musgrove Evans Award for Outstanding Community Service and the Maple Leaf Award for Outstanding and Continuous Service to Lenawee County. Mr. Hickman and his wife Shelley reside in Tecumseh. Michigan.
Ann Hinsdale-KniselAnn Hinsdale-Knisel
Ann Hinsdale-Knisel is the Community Relations Coordinator with the Lenawee Intermediate School District, a position she has held since 2007. Prior to her time at the LISD, Ms. Hinsdale-Knisel spent 25 years as the Director of the Lenawee County MSU Extension Office. She resides in Sand Creek, Michigan with her husband, Bill. She has a daughter, Jenna, who is finishing her junior year of college, step-son, Jason, and three grandchildren, Mariah, Cloe’ and Seth. She is Chair Elect of the ATHENA Lenawee Council, member of: Meyers Foundation Board, Civitan of Lenawee, Community Board of United Bank & Trust, Adrian Symphony Orchestra Board, and the Chair of the Adrian Dominican Montessori Teacher Education Institute Board.
Steve KrusichSteve Krusich
Steve Krusich recently retired after serving 11 years as the Superintendent of the Lenawee Intermediate School District (LISD). Prior to his appointment to the Superintendent’s position, Mr. Krusich served ten years as the Assistant Superintendent for Special Education services with the LISD, 12 years as the Assistant Director of Special Education for the Lapeer County Intermediate School District and five years as a school psychologist. Mr. Krusich holds a Masters degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Illinois and a Bachelors of Arts Degree from Asbury College. Mr. Krusich is active in the Lenawee community serving on the boards of numerous community enrichment organizations including:  the Salvation Army, JCC Foundation, Lenawee YMCA, Lenawee Great Start Collaborative and numerous councils of the ProMedica Health System. Mr. Krusich is a member of the Adrian Kiwanis Club. He and his wife Karen reside in Adrian, Michigan.

Jim McClellan, Jr.

Jim McClellan, Jr. is a graduate of Huntington University (BS) and Purdue University (MS) and holds banking degrees from the University of North Carolina and Northwestern University.  He has been awarded the title of “Certified Financial Counselor”.  He served as Past-President and Executive Director of Lenawee Christian Ministries since 1987, before his retirement in 2009.  Jim has served on many boards over the years, including over 20 years on the LCEF Board of Trustees.

Martha Poppink-MelcherMartha Poppink-Melcher  Martha Poppink-Melcher is a resident of Tecumseh, Michigan. Ms. Poppink-Melcher is a retired school counselor who served in the Adrian School District. She holds a BS degree from Western Michigan University and MA degree from Eastern Michigan University. In addition to her service to the LCEF, Ms. Poppink-Melcher is highly active with the Tecumseh Pops and the Community Arts of Tecumseh organization where she is a founding member.
Ronald ReevesRonald Reeves Ron Reeves serves as the Vice President for Development at Adrian College. Prior to his tenure at the College, Mr. Reeves spent nearly thirty years as the Executive Vice President and General Manager of Venchurs, Inc. He received his BA from Adrian College. Mr. Reeves and his wife Kay are highly active members of the Adrian and Lenawee communities. Mr. Reeves is a past member of the Adrian College Board of Trustees and a current member of the Lenawee County Salvation Army Board, the City of Adrian Brownfield Redevelopment Authority and the Great Sauk Chapter of the Boy Scouts of America.

Theresa Powers

  Theresa is Executive Director of the Elizabeth Ruthruff Wilson Foundation.  She is very active and supportive of the Tecumseh Schools Orchestra.  She also serves as  Executive Director of the Board for the “Friends of Tecumseh Schools Orchestra” a very active booster group that works to insure all needs of the Tecumseh orchestra program are met.  She has been a resident of Tecumseh since 1972.   She enjoys her time spent with her wonderful husband Wes, their two children Jennifer and Jeremy, daughter- in-law Sheri and six grandchildren, Logan, Gabriel, Garrett, Xavier, Jamairah and Eliott.   When Theresa is not busy volunteering, she loves gardening, shopping and traveling.
