Janet McDowellJanet McDowell
Executive Director		 Janet McDowell has served as the Executive Director of the Lenawee County Education Foundation since 1991. Ms. McDowell retired from her position as Assistant to the LISD Superintendent in 2004 and has since only served the Foundation as its’ Executive Director.Janet presently serves as a trustee on the Adrian Public Schools Board of Education. She is a member of the Administrative Council of the Adrian First United Methodist Church and Alpha Gamma Master Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi. Past community service includes serving on the Board of the American Red Cross, Goodwill, Lenawee YMCA and Adrian Community Nursery.She was recognized by Athena of Lenawee for her service to the Lenawee community in 1998, receiving their annual ATHENA award.Janet is married to Gary McDowell who currently serves as the Mayor of the City of Adrian. Together they have three adult children and are expecting their seventh grandchild in the near future.
  

Christine Scott Administrative Assistant

 Christine Scott has served as Janet McDowell’s Administrative Assistant at the Lenawee County Education Foundation since 2011.  Ms. Scott concurrently serves as Student Events Coordinator for the Lenawee Intermediate School District (LISD), organizing the county schools’ debate, forensics and quiz bowl meets, as well as the county spelling bee.  In addition to her work with the LISD, Christine works part-time as a substitute teacher for Sand Creek Community Schools and is actively involved with their P.T.O.  She currently is co-chair for the Sand Creek Craft and Antique Show and previously chaired the school’s spelling bee and book order club.  Christine previously worked in customer service at Tecumseh Products Company, in personnel at Hunter Moving & Storage, and has volunteered on many projects and committees at church.  She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Management and Organizational Development from Spring Arbor University.  Ms. Scott lives in Adrian with her two sons, ages 16 and 12.
